Images:'Croome Sheep', Zarina Keyani at Croomeand Abstract Tree Photography
Some great abstract photo opps while you are out and about walking! I am definately inspired to do some Plein Air painting. These images certainly have some painterly qualities.

Exhibitions

Work is up in the Face To Face exhibition kindly hosted by Dawn Harris of The Artists Workhouse.
I broke from my tradition of random abstract mark making to create something a bit more illustrated. I love the results. Click HERE for the 'Mercia' page. My named series for this work.
Amongst a whole host of other artists exhibiting, are Carolyn Morris and Debs Catesby. I felt it was a really strong exhibition with a lot of variety yet quite cohesive. Dawn had done a great job of curating the show. There are books and a print available to celebrate. Check out The Artists Workhouse for more info HERE.

My Paintings

Progress and Archive

Painting Progress

'Abstract Colour'
One of my recent abstracts. I like it as is, but could layer a bit more. However when you do, the painting can become a bit stale. To be honest I wanted a more expressive painting anyway and I love love these colours!
'Abstract Expressionism', Oil on Canvas
I can see these as being pre-paintings rather than finished products. I may just keep one, perhaps the one above and 'adjust' the rest. part of the fun is developing it.

Painting Archive

'Kinver' Acrylic on canvas. 90x90cm
This month I am pulling from the archive one of my old favourites and yours too 'Carolyn Morris'! Its a lot more graphic with definite landscape elements.
The painting is part of a large series of paintings under the umbrella of 'Organised Land'.
How we perceive, understand and organise into categories and brackets creating self imposed barriers.

In Digbeth

'Digbeth Map'
