It isn't about photorealism. Its about abstracting elements you can work with.

Stay At Home Inspirations

April 2020

Flowers are great for colour and vibrancy. If you are a flower painter you will have loads to do. I am more abstract and really take the ethos of the flower rather than the aesthetic. But they are so good to look at and get colour inspiration from. It will be interesting to see what we develop over the next few weeks of lockdown. I have certainly been inspired by colour and variations in tone and the abstract qualities that flowers possess.

Biking Inspirations

March 2020

Travelled about in the Worcestershire countryside on my bike. Some great vistas to be had of impending rain. Other bike rides included journeying to my studio.

Went into Caspians on the Stratford Road for a pizza and at the back they had a couple of great calligraphic pieces of work. Great work guys. Keep it up!

I hadnt been over to Eastside for a while . Digbeth First Friday was an excuse to do so. Some varying work, quirky and fun!

Elena Thomas

Went over to see Elena in her studio. A great little space in the General Office building which is also a gallery space, located in Stourbridge town centre.

Elena had her exhibition up the week before but sadly I had missed it. She had a few fabulous pieces available to show tough, large watercolour and graphite works. Brilliant!
